The PS and ABS factories were built in the Xingang factory area, and then entered the plastics industry.

The company participated in the six light project plan of the enterprise body, and cooperated with the vertical integration strategy of the upstream and downstream production of petrochemical raw materials of the enterprise body, and began to invest in the construction of Aroma, SM, Phenol, PTA, DMF, PS, ABS, PP, PC and HAC and other factories, products cover petrochemical midstream raw materials, general-purpose plastics and engineering plastic raw materials; the company also participated in the reinvestment of the establishment of Formosa Petrochemical Company, Mailiao Industrial Port and Mailiao Automobile and Electricity Company, which increased the company's source of profit.
- 1999
The factories of Liuqing were completed and put into production one by one.
- 2000
The revenue of petrochemicals and plastics exceeded that of fibers and textiles, and the company officially transformed into petrochemicals and plastics.
